Selecting a Kit Size
How to choose your ideal kit size. Consider your desired length, width, & depth of your pond to determine the pond liner size. Select the kit size that is within range of what liner size you need. Once you choose the kit size, you will find a selection of pond kits. Each kit has a unique combination in waterfall width, skimmer size, and pump flow rate.
Liner size translated to finished pond size is easy to calculate. Consider the depth plus 6” lip on each side. A 10x10 liner will result in a 6x6 water garden.
Application
Water gardens are most commonly 1.5’ deep, while koi ponds should be at least 3 feet deep to protect fish from freezing during the winter months.

What size liner do I need?
The formula for sizing a pond liner is:
POND LENGTH + (2 TIMES DEPTH) + 2' = LINER LENGTH
POND WIDTH + (2 TIMES DEPTH) + 2'= LINER WIDTH
Example:
A 12' long, 7' wide and 3' deep pond is...
12' + (2 * 3) +2' = 20' Long
7' + (2 * 3) + 2' = 15' Wide
How many gallons is my pond?
The formula for determining the number of gallons is: FOR SQUARE AND RECTANGULAR PONDS
Length * Width * Depth * 7.5 = Gallons

What is "Geotextile Underlayment"?
The biggest contributors to pond liners failing are poor, unstable soil conditions and rips and tears from rocks and boulders. Shifting soil creates pockets and voids under your pond liner, forcing it to stretch under the weight of the water. Rocks and boulders placed on and around your water feature create aesthetically pleasing visual focal points. They can also penetrate, tear and harm your liner.
Underlayment adds an extra layer of protection between pond liner and rocky or unstable soils. It stabilizes soil to prevent air voids from forming between the liner and earth; reduces wear and abrasion from rocks and roots and extends the life of pond liner.

In order to have a healthy, beautiful pond, you need to make sure your pond is receiving enough oxygen. Aeration is the infusion of oxygen and it is essential component to the overall life of your pond.
Ponds can lose their original clarity. This happens when there are imbalances, a lack of circulation, a lack of nutrients and oxygen, or general neglect of a pond.
Complete Pond Kits include all the necessary components to build a backyard pond, koi / fish pond, or water garden. It can be quite difficult to research and compare prices of each component.
